Design as Art, Bruno Munari, England, 1971
Bruno Munari's Design as Art is an illustrated journey into the artistic possibilities of modern design. This version was published as part of the 'Penguin on Design' series in Penguin Modern Classics. Described by Picasso as 'the new Leonardo', Munari believed that design should be beautiful, functional and accessible to all. This visual and highly entertaining book enlightens the reader to discover more about his ideas surrounding visual, graphic, and industrial design and the role it plays in the objects we use everyday. It is a first edition Pelican original, and was published in 1971. The condition is used with some stains to the inner cover, and has ghost markings from where an old library sticker has been ripped out. It contains surface scratches, folded corners, and other basic signs of everyday wear and tear, to be expected with its age.
