1964-1972, Sadahiro Koizumi, Japan, 2016

Japanese photographer Sadahiro Koizumi focuses his work on the climate and personal scenery in and around Tokyo, where he worked as a professor of photography at Nihon University College of Art. Remaining relatively unknown, particularly in the UK, this book is a particularly rare find. Published in 2016 and filled with monochromatic imagery throughout 1964-72, the content spans still life to portraiture and landscapes. It comes protected in cardboard sleeve with printed sticker, and remains in good used condition, with some light marks and bumps to the cardboard and hardcover corners. The book comes with a slip with a typed message from the author, translated from Japanese it reads:  ‘Like an arrow of light and shadow, this year is approaching. The photo book ‘1964-1972’ has been completed. It is a compilation of my work when I started studying photography. I would appreciate it if you could take care of yourself during this season. Very truly yours, happy December 2016, Sadahiro Koizumi
