This rare book takes you on a comprehensive journey of Japanese seating, from Meiji era bamboo chairs by unknown craftsmen to sumo wrestler inspired hotel lobby armchairs. The collection comprises 108 of the most significant chair designs to come out of Japan between 1883 and 1993. Softcover with original OBI, it features quality black and white photographs of each curated piece accompanied by biographies of their designers printed in both Japanese and English. In excellent, well looked after condition with some light marks to be expected.
